Basketball Recap: McAllen Comes Up Short

McAllen lost against Rowe back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The matchup between the McAllen Bulldogs and the Rowe Warriors didn't end well, with the McAllen Bulldogs falling 49-31. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 578th, while the Warriors are ranked 110th).

Despite the loss, McAllen still got an impressive performance from Miller Richey, who posted seven points and 13 rebounds. Richey is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 16 games she's played. Dariana Luna was another key player, putting up five points along with 13 boards and three steals.

McAllen has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season. As for Rowe, their win bumped their record up to 20-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McAllen will welcome Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. McAllen is facing Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest at the right time seeing as Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Rowe, they will face off against Sharyland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
