Twin Peaks Classical Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Matthew Wurth, who posted eight points and 12 rebounds. Wurth is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least 12 every time he's taken the court this season. Angel Ortega was another key player, putting up ten points.
Twin Peaks Classical Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Nederland came up short against Dawson School on Wednesday, falling 52-30. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mustangs 16-8 in the first quarter.
Twin Peaks Classical Academy will need to focus on slowing down Drew Hertzfeld, one of several Nederland players who made an impact when they last played. He scored six points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Indio Koonz, who had two points and five steals.
Twin Peaks Classical Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Nederland, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's contest: Twin Peaks Classical Academy has made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having averaged 8.4 threes per game. It's a different story for Nederland, though, as they've been averaging only 3.8 three-pointers. Given Twin Peaks Classical Academy's sizable advantage in that area, the Panthers will need to find a way to close that gap.
