There's no place like home for the Archbishop Bergan Knights, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 60-51 victory over Scotus on Friday. This was payback for Archbishop Bergan, who suffered a 50-48 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Archbishop Bergan's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Eggen, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gavin Baker, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Archbishop Bergan pushed their record up to 11-3 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.2 points per game. As for Scotus, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.
Archbishop Bergan and Aquinas will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Aquinas focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Saturday. As for Scotus, they will head out on the road to challenge Boys Town at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Boys Town is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.2 points per game.
