The Joshua Christian Knights put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 28-27 win over Heritage Christian Athletics. This was payback for Joshua Christian, who suffered a 51-26 loss the last time these two teams met.
Leading Joshua Christian to victory were Addyson Archer and Riley Hanks. Archer dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Hanks scored 13 points along with four blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hanks has scored at least 25% of Joshua Christian's points.
Joshua Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Heritage Christian Athletics, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Joshua Christian will face off against Heritage Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Heritage Christian Athletics will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Nazarene Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 18, 2024.
