North Central was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after a bye. The Panthers came in at 23 in the state poll after placing at number 29 last week.
Adding to the longest winning streak in Metropolitan this week, Warren Central beat Pike 24-21. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Center Grove's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Luke Calvert threw for 139 and 2 touchdowns and Devon Hensley had 71 yards receiving. On the ground Max Norris chipped in 196 yards. Matt O'Brien helped Center Grove's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 57 yards.
The Trojans' dynamic duo of Calvert and Hensley proved to be unstoppable against Southport, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. O'Brien helped Center Grove's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 57 yards.
Norris provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Center Grove beat the Cardinals. Norris' key target this week was Hensley, who caught 3 passes for 71 yards.
6-foot-5 quarterback Michael Loggan of North Central is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,903. He has also thrown 16 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is DARIUS LEE. The Warren Central star has 26 catches for 619 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Eric Moore's team and Warren Central. The Trojans enters the game ranked first in the state, while Jayson West's team ranks third.
Going into this week's contest against the Warriors, Center Grove's Calvert needs 141 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season. So far this year, Calvert has thrown for 1,859 yards with 23 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when Warren Central's LEE goes up against the Trojans' Alex Aukerman.
Center Grove took down Southport 56-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Norris ran for 196 yards during the win.
