Even though the Academy of Science and Innovation Ravens have not done well against the Goodwin Tech Gladiators recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Academy of Science and Innovation claimed a resounding 54-5 win over Goodwin Tech on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-5.
Maiara Rodriguez had a dynamite game for Academy of Science and Innovation, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 13 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Symber Ortiz-Sutton, who scored 15 points along with four steals.
Academy of Science and Innovation's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Goodwin Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Academy of Science and Innovation will face off against Classical Magnet at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Goodwin Tech, they will head out on the road to face off against Bullard-Havens at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
