On Friday, Braddock sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-47 win over North Miami.
Elsa Stier was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. The match was her eighth in a row with at least ten points. Daniella Pujadas was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six steals.
North Miami's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jadore Hayes , who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 22 rebounds. Hayes scored a full 51.1% of North Miami's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kindal Glanton, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
The victory got Braddock back to even at 4-4. As for North Miami, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Braddock will head out on the road to face off against Sunset at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Sunset will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 573rd, while Braddock is ranked 231st). As for North Miami, they will be playing in front of their home fans against LaSalle at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. LaSalle is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
