Artesia won the last time they faced Portales and things went their way on Saturday too. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Rams. Considering the Bulldogs have won six games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Artesia has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Portales, they dropped their record down to 3-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Artesia beat the Rams by a score of 13-1 later that day.
