The biggest upset of the week belonged to Sweetwater, who took down 803rd ranked Montgomery, 23-7.
Marcos Mathis and Dion Moore provided fans with a highlight when they connected against the Red Devils. The connection was good for 78 yards, the longest such play in Metro - Pacific this season.
The Aztecs' dynamic duo of Mathis and Moore proved tough for Sweetwater to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Mathis threw for 78 yards and one touchdown and Moore had 79 yards receiving. Alex Cervantes helped Montgomery's passing attack out by catching one ball for 25 yards.
Marcos Ochoa was the most productive running back in the league this week. In eight carries, he ran for 55 yards as Castle Park fell to Jose Mendoza's team. Teammate Aaron Leon added to the ground attack by rushing for 53 yards.
On the ground, Ted Jarumayan's team's Mathis has rushed for 363 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Aust'n Morga. The Montgomery star has 21 catches for 283 yards.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Mater Dei takes on the Red Devils. The Crusaders have allowed 129 points this season, while Sweetwater has given up 223. Mater Dei allowed 7 points last week as it beat the Trojans.
John Joyner's team extended the longest winning streak in Metro - Pacific this week by beating Castle Park, 35-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
