Orting is a perfect 10-0 against Washington since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cardinals are taking a road trip to face off against the Patriots at 4:00 p.m. Orting will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Wednesday, Orting was able to grind out a solid victory over Fife, taking the game 10-6.

Kathryn Prest made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off 13 hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.
In other batting news, Katie Arnett was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Norah Fenton, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Orting kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Washington, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They were the clear victors by a 24-0 margin over Clover Park on Tuesday. Considering the Patriots have won three games by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Steve-Rae Garcia-Zamora was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Washington got a massive performance out of Dee Moore, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Harmony Steenhard was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one triple.
Orting's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Washington, their record is now 5-3.
Thursday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Orting has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. However, it's not like Washington struggles in that department as they've averaged .454. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Orting's way against Washington when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Orting made off with a 7-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
