The Union Rockets will head out on the road to square off against the Daleville Broncos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Union has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
On Tuesday, Union beat Centerville 52-45.
Union's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Glory Ellis led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Ellis is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaitlynn Holderman, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Daleville scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 64-25 victory over Indiana Math & Science Academy North. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Daleville has managed all season.
Daleville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Addi Gothrup out in front who scored 27 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gothrup has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Pratcher, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten steals.
Union's record now sits at 8-10. As for Daleville, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-13.
Union might still be hurting after the 68-48 loss they got from Daleville in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Union avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
