Softball Recap: Clayton Wins Going Away Against South Garner

Clayton's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the South Garner Titans 17-4. The Comets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Autumn Joyce, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Addison Coalts was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Clayton's record now sits at 5-1. As for South Garner, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Clayton will welcome Garner at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Garner is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.8 runs per game this season. As for South Garner, they will venture away from home to take on Willow Spring at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Garner has given up an average of 16.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
