It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Middlesex had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Point Pleasant Beach Garnet Gulls. The result was nothing new for the Bluejays, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Middlesex has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Point Pleasant Beach, they moved to 20-8 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Middlesex will take on Schalick on Monday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something the Bluejays surely won't give up without a fight. Point Pleasant Beach does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
