The Jacksonville Crimsons will face off against the Springfield Senators at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jacksonville will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Saturday, Jacksonville made easy work of New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly and carried off an 11-1 win.
Anderson Decker was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Ryan Headen, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Jacksonville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, while Springfield put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Pawnee. The Senators came out on top against the Indians by a score of 4-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Senators haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Not much got past Brody Scheffler, who gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks to keep Pawnee off the board. Scheffler has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on A.J. Ozier, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Gillespie, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.
Jacksonville's win bumped their record up to 19-14. As for Springfield, their victory bumped their record up to 10-19.
Springfield's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Jacksonville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330. It's a different story for Springfield, though, as they've only averaged .241. Will they be able to contain Jacksonville's hitters?
Jacksonville beat Springfield 5-0 in their previous matchup back in April. Will the Crimsons repeat their success, or do the Senators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
