The Ypsilanti Grizzlies gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 49-4 victory over Henry Ford Academy. With Ypsilanti ahead 32-3 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Ypsilanti can attribute much of their success to Charity Hurt, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Nylese Hood, who scored 4 points along with 10 steals and 6 rebounds.
Ypsilanti's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Henry Ford Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ypsilanti will take on Academy for Business & Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Henry Ford Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Old Redford Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
