The Lakeside Vikings had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against North Atlanta by a score of 46-33 on Tuesday. The victory was just what Lakeside needed coming off of a 68-42 loss in their prior game.
Leading Lakeside to victory were Zayd Muhammad and Jacob Tillman. Muhammad scored 14 points, while Tillman scored 13 points along with five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahmari Henson, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Lakeside's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-15. As for North Atlanta, they dropped their record down to 9-13 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Lakeside will be playing in front of their home fans against Marist at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Marist presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lakeside in Georgia (Marist is ranked 98th, while Lakeside is ranked 304th). As for North Atlanta, they will head out on the road to challenge St. Pius X Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Pius X Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully North Atlanta likes a good challenge.
