Last Monday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Blue Ridge Christian beat Ridgeview Christian 45-39. Given Blue Ridge Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Ridgeview Christian is ranked 330th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Blue Ridge Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anna Faith Brunk, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Callie Paradzinski, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, sadly, Fresta Valley Christian is still looking for their first win of the season after six matches. They took a 31-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mountain View Christian Academy.
Blue Ridge Christian's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Fresta Valley Christian, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Blue Ridge Christian strolled past Fresta Valley Christian in their previous matchup back in November of 2023 by a score of 38-21. Will Blue Ridge Christian repeat their success, or does Fresta Valley Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
