The biggest upset of the week belonged to South, who took down 308th ranked South, 33-10.
El Segundo was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to second in Pioneer. The Eagles vanquished Torrance 24-22 earlier in the week.
El Segundo's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Lars Nootbaar threw for 237 and three touchdowns and Jamie Stewart had 157 yards receiving. On the ground Austin Brasher chipped in 57 yards. Austin Kurke helped El Segundo's passing attack out by catching one ball for 32 yards.
Steve Shevlin's team's Daniel Zeman and Stewart have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Zeman has thrown for 948 yards this season, while Stewart, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 34 catches for 525 yards. Jonathan Heard from the Tartars leads the league in rushing with 454 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place North takes on second place El Segundo. North defeated Lawndale last week, while the Eagles bested Torrance.

The Tartars moved up to 534 from 566 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Pioneer. Torrance climbed the ranks as a result of falling to the Eagles 24-22.
