The Mead Mavericks had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32 points), and they went ahead and made it 11 on Wednesday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 66-27 victory over Centaurus. Mead has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 21 points or more this season.
Mead got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caroline Kron out in front who scored seven points along with three steals and three blocks. Elena Gomez was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Despite the loss, Centaurus still got an impressive performance from Ingrid Lorton, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Lorton hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games.
Centaurus struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Mead racked up 15 assists.
Mead's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Centaurus, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.
Mead will head out on the road to challenge Holy Family at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Holy Family's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches. As for Centaurus, they will be playing at home against Windsor at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Centaurus will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 185th, while Windsor is ranked 32nd).
