The Marion H Hawks came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Gilead Christian 46-30. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Marion H also won the last time the pair played last Saturday.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aden Wagner, who scored eight points along with four steals. Diesel Myers was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Marion H pushed their record up to 8-2 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.4 points per game. As for Gilead Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-6.
Marion H will head out on the road to square off against Kingsway Christian at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Marion H is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kingsway Christian in Ohio (Marion H is ranked 326th, while Kingsway Christian is ranked 828th). As for Gilead Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Zanesville Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Gilead Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday.
