Basketball Game Preview: Crisp County Cougars vs. Tattnall County Warriors

The Crisp County Cougars will challenge the Tattnall County Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Crisp County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Tattnall County likes a good challenge.

Last Saturday, everything went Crisp County's way against Pierce County as Crisp County made off with a 73-51 victory. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Zakariyya Dwight continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 4-for-5 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. He has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more blocks the last 25 times he's played. Caden Lofton was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards.

Crisp County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 26 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, after a string of 17 wins, Tattnall County's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Vidalia by a score of 47-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Warriors have suffered since January 12, 2024.

Crisp County's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.9 points. As for Tattnall County, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-3.
