The Loveland Classical Lions suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by Windsor Charter Academy on the road and fell 58-29. Loveland Classical has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Alethia Thye and Lara Riedel certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Thye scored 15 points along with three steals, while Riedel scored five points along with six rebounds.
Windsor Charter Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sadie Curry, who scored 15 points along with six steals and five assists. Curry continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Kimmi, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Loveland Classical's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Windsor Charter Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-6.
Loveland Classical will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Front Range Baptist at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Windsor Charter Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Golden View Classical Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Golden View Classical Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 34 last Friday.
