The Seffner Christian Crusaders will square off against the Northside Christian Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Seffner Christian has given up an average of 8.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Seffner Christian came up short against Shorecrest Prep on Thursday, falling 15-4.
Allison Baston was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up seven earned (and eight unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season.

Those six stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliana Serrano, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northside Christian). They blew past Admiral Farragut 25-2 on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Like Seffner Christian, Northside Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Aryah Walters. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. Walters was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, Brielle Nestor was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Macy SMith, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-4.
Northside Christian pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.6 runs over those games. As for Seffner Christian, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
