Briggs has gone a perfect 10-0 against South recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bruins will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Briggs has ten straight victories, South has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Briggs barely beat Walnut Ridge the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bruins blew past the Scots 8-1 on Monday. Considering the Bruins have won 11 contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Wyatt Martin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
In other batting news, Cameron Griffith was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was his first of the season.
Meanwhile, South came up short against Marion-Franklin on Monday and fell 16-13.
Kellin Campbell and Ovanti Dennis stepped up to the plate in a big way. Campbell went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Dennis went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Justin Davis, Jr., who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Briggs' win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.2 runs over those games. As for South, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
South's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Briggs hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .337. It's a different story for South, though, as they've only averaged .211. Will they be able to contain Briggs' hitters?
Everything went Briggs' way against South when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Briggs made off with a 20-13 win. Do the Bruins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
