The West Limestone Wildcats came into Thursday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Tanner 61-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Tanner still got an impressive performance from Skylar Townsend, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Cade Dorning was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
West Limestone now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Tanner, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7.
West Limestone does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Tanner will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lindsay Lane Christian Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to an 11-game streak of away losses.
