The Dublin Coffman Shamrocks had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They secured a 67-63 W over Grove City on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Grove City's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kraig Gilbert, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Kevin Gallagher, who scored 13 points.
Dublin Coffman's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Grove City, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Dublin Coffman will head out on the road to face off against Westerville South at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westerville South presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dublin Coffman in Ohio (Westerville South is ranked 103rd, while Dublin Coffman is ranked 274th). As for Grove City, they will be playing at home against Canal Winchester at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
