Hampton is 2-8 against Menchville since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Crabbers will be playing at home against the Monarchs at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Menchville will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Hampton extended their winning streak to 13 on Thursday. Everything went the Crabbers' way against Heritage as they made off with a 10-3 victory.
Jayden Valentine was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Zack Reynolds looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Xavier Nixon, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with six stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those six stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaycob Flores, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Menchville won against Woodside on Tuesday with 17 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Monarchs never let the Wolverines get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. The Monarchs have beaten the Wolverines the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wolverines has come to flipping the script.
Hampton pushed their record up to 13-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Menchville, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
Hampton might still be hurting after the 7-1 defeat they got from Menchville in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Crabbers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
