Basketball Recap: Long Skates Past Geneva with Ease

Long entered their tilt with Geneva on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Geneva Panthers 60-33. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Panthers are ranked 332nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Long has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.1 points per game. As for Geneva, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Long will take on Ashford in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Long is facing Ashford at the right time seeing as Ashford is stuck on a six-game losing streak. Geneva and Slocomb will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
