The Chilhowee Indians will be playing at home against the Ballard Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Chilhowee's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their fifth straight loss. The matchup between them and Bronaugh wasn't particularly close, with Chilhowee falling 72-55.
Meanwhile, Ballard had to endure a 12-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Miami with a sharp 60-39 win on Thursday. The victory was just what Ballard needed coming off of a 45-12 defeat in their prior contest.
Ballard found their leader in underclassman Payson Hill, who scored 25 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hill has scored at least a third of Ballard's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Callahan, who scored 13 points.
Chilhowee has not been sharp recently as the team has lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Ballard, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-16.
Chilhowee barely slipped by Ballard in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 54-53. Does Chilhowee have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ballard turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
