The Wooster Generals struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Friday (the Mansfield Senior Tygers were 20% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. Wooster took a 66-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mansfield Senior. While losing is never fun, Wooster can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 545th, while Mansfield Senior is ranked 155th).
Despite the loss, Wooster still got an impressive performance from Brady Bowen, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Anthony Sines was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Kyevi Roane continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mansfield Senior, scoring 21 points along with nine rebounds. The game was Roane's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dondreas Reese, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Wooster and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Mansfield Senior, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.
Wooster's road trip will continue as they head out to face Orrville at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th. Mansfield Senior will finish 2023 at home by hosting West Holmes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Holmes is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
