The Comer Catamounts lost against the Bulls College Prep Bulls back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Comer fell 31-18 to Bulls College Prep. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Comer in their matchups with Bulls College Prep: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Comer saw an underclassman step up: Ra'Quima Wilson scored ten points.
Saniyah Smith was her usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds for Bulls College Prep. Smith has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last five times she's played. Aaniyah Williams-Perez was another key contributor, scoring four points along with three steals.
Comer's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.4 points per game. As for Bulls College Prep, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Comer will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pritzker at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Bulls College Prep will be home for the holidays to greet Butler at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Butler is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60.6 points per game.
