The Sahuarita Mustangs won against the St. Michael Cardinals on Friday with 50 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Sahuarita walked away with a 50-40 win over St. Michael. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Sahuarita.
Sahuarita got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kealey Myhre out in front who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. The match was Myhre's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Camila Villalobos, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Sahuarita has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for St. Michael, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.
Sahuarita's road trip will continue as they head out to face Douglas at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th. Douglas will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. St. Michael and Payson will round out the year against one another at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at. Payson is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.2 points per game.
