After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Curie, the Perspectives Leadership/Technology Warriors were happy to have found some success on Thursday. Everything went their way against Brooks as Perspectives Leadership/Technology made off with a 66-46 victory. Given Perspectives Leadership/Technology's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while Brooks is ranked 506th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tim Handy continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points along with six assists and two steals. Another player making a difference was Kendall Holliday, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Brooks lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bryce Hayes. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that Hayes scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Shepard, who scored 11 points.
Perspectives Leadership/Technology pushed their record up to 8-6 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points per game. As for Brooks, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
Perspectives Leadership/Technology will be playing at home against Phillips at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Phillips has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Brooks on the road again on Wednesday and play against Bowen at 5:00 p.m. on January 17th.
