Basketball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Pinnacle's 13th in Last 14 Outings

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Pinnacle walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Catalina Foothills Falcons with a sharp 53-32 victory on Thursday. The Pioneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Leading Pinnacle to victory were Norah Moo and Rylee Fraley. Moo dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Fraley almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 assists. Moo has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more boards the last 13 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Claire Carnal, who posted 11 points.

Despite the loss, Catalina Foothills had strong showings from Clara Mae Hager, who earned 14 points, and Kayanna Chief, who had eight points and five rebounds.

Pinnacle has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points over those games. Catalina Foothills' defeat dropped their record down to 21-6.

Coming up, Pinnacle will take on Mesquite at 7:00 p.m. on February 27th. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Mesquite comes in on 15 and Pinnacle on eight. As for Catalina Foothills, they will face off against Willow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on February 27th. Catalina Foothills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.6 points per game this season.
