Volleyball Recap: Barrington Starts Season with Win Against Stevenson

Barrington gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Stevenson Patriots by a score of 2-0. The win continues a trend for the Fillies/Broncos in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won seven in a row.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-22.

Kalyn Brookbank paced Barrington's offense, picking up 12 kills. Brookbank got some help from Eve Adler and her 14 assists. Jaelyn Connole and Antonia Rojas kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ryler Bondad, who had eight assists and six digs.

Stevenson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Barrington will square off against Lincoln-Way Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stevenson, they will take on Evanston in a tournament on Friday.
