Los Altos extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 9-9 in the process. They came up short against the Los Gatos Wildcats, falling 11-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 back in March.
Makayla Mase made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Sabrina Neal was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
As for Los Gatos, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.
On Los Gatos' side, Ava Norquist made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Norquist has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Danica DeSantis looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Los Gatos got a big performance out of Lily Young, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Young a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Feichtmeir, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Los Altos didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-2 win against Wilcox on the 1st. As for Los Gatos, they have also already played their next matchup, a 9-6 victory against Gunn on the 1st.
