The Diamond Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Sarcoxie Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Diamond beat Clever 28-21. The victory was just what Diamond needed coming off of a 39-12 defeat in their prior game.
Among those leading the charge was Kendal King, who rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Kaleb Belcher and his 87 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Diamond's victory.
Meanwhile, Sarcoxie put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 46-18 victory over Ash Grove on the road. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Sarcoxie.
Noah Garrison was on fire: he rushed for 231 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per carry. Garrison was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards.
Diamond now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Sarcoxie, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 9-1.
Diamond was dealt a bruising 39-12 loss at the hands of Sarcoxie in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can Diamond avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
