Despite the defeat, Smyrna had strong showings from Ze'keice Mccarver, who scored 16 points along with two steals, and Jalylle Batey-roberts, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Mccarver scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyreque Mccarver, who scored 11 points along with six assists.
Smyrna has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Stewarts Creek, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Smyrna will square off against Lebanon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Stewarts Creek on the road again on Tuesday and play against Wilson Central at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Wilson Central is ranked 191st, while Stewarts Creek is ranked 173rd).
