Sachem East lost against the William Floyd Colonials back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Sachem East took a 51-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of William Floyd.
William Floyd had a senior duo take command as Jacqueline Sutherland scored 22 points along with five rebounds and three steals and Kayla Gilmore scored 15 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Sutherland has scored at least 25% of William Floyd's points. Another player making a difference was Kayden Meyer, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Sachem East's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for William Floyd, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Walt Whitman the next time they take the court. William Floyd will host Walt Whitman at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, while Sachem East will head out to face them at 5:45 p.m. on January 25th.
