The NSU University Sharks's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They took down American Heritage 66-47. Given NSU University's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while American Heritage is ranked 422nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Anthony Ferrer was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Julian Granville, who scored 14 points.
NSU University's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for American Heritage, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. NSU University won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hialeah Educational Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. One thing working in Hialeah Educational Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for the Patriots, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Stallions at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Stallions are hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
