A well-balanced attack led the Prospect Ridge Academy Miners over the Stargate School Eagles in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Prospect Ridge Academy blew the Eagles out of the water with a 49-20 final score. That looming 49-20 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Prospect Ridge Academy yet this season.
It was another big night for Kayah Robbins, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 15 rebounds. Robbins is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelia Waggoner, who scored 11 points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Prospect Ridge Academy and bumps their season record up to 4-11. As for Stargate School, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prospect Ridge Academy will take on the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Miners in Colorado (the Jaguars are ranked 107th, while the Miners are ranked 244th). As for Stargate School, they will head out on the road to take on the Ocelotls at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
