Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Thatcher walked away with it. Their defense stepped up to hand the Minotaur a 2-0 shutout on Tuesday. Give Thatcher's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.
Will Chidester was the driving force of Thatcher's attack as he scored both of Thatcher's goals. With that big game, he's now up to 11 goals this season.
Meanwhile, Northwest Christian narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past NFL Yet Academy 1-0.
Thatcher's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those four matches. As for Northwest Christian, their win bumped their record up to 14-2-1.
Thatcher suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Northwest Christian in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Thatcher avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
