For the first time this season, Bonners Ferry will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to square off against the Timberlake Tigers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Bonners Ferry took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Kellogg with a sharp 12-2 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Badgers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, Timberlake waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against the Rams as they made off with a 19-6 victory. Considering the Tigers have won seven games by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Eric Wylie was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Dane Perkl was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was James Moore, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Timberlake kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Riverside only managed five hits.
Timberlake's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Bonners Ferry, their record now sits at 5-9.
Bonners Ferry suffered a grim 14-2 defeat to Timberlake in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Badgers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
