The Southland Rebels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Houston 56-29. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Southland has scored all season.
Houston found their leader in underclassman Avery Kingsley, who scored 22 points along with four steals. Kingsley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubry Boldt, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Southland dropped their record down to 4-14 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Houston, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.
Southland will be playing at home against the Burros at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Houston, they will head out on the road to take on the Superlarks at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Grand Meadow knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully the Hurricanes likes a good challenge.
