Jimtown has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Trinity Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Jimtown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Friday.
Jimtown lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Friday was a bit more commanding. They were dealt a 66-32 loss at the hands of South Bend Washington. Jimtown has struggled against South Bend Washington recently, as their game on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Natalie Butler, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Abbey Brown was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Jimtown struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as South Bend Washington pulled down 13 offensive rebounds.
Meanwhile, Trinity was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 26-22 to South Bend Riley. Trinity has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jimtown has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Trinity, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
Everything went Jimtown's way against Trinity when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as Jimtown made off with a 56-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jimtown since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
