Ozarks recap Oct. 3, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Kickapoo, who took down 41st ranked Hillcrest, 26-21. Anthony Cooper threw for 151 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 64 yards in the win.
Parkview extended the longest winning streak in Ozarks this week by beating Glendale, 28-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Vikings.
Brock West was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 156 yards on eight carries as Lebanon topped West Plains. Teammate Elza Evans added to the ground attack by rushing for 36 yards.
Martin was the best wideout in the league this week as the Yellowjackets bested the Zizzers. Martin racked up four receptions for 112 yards. Josh Archer helped Lebanon's passing attack out by catching five balls for 31 yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Cooper of the Chiefs is the league leader in passing yards this season with 752. He has also thrown seven touchdowns. On the ground, Lebanon's West has rushed for 1105 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Connor Ratcliff. The Parkview star has 23 catches for 336 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Parkview takes on second place Hillcrest. Last week, Parkview beat the Falcons, while the Hornets fell to Kickapoo.
There should be lots of points scored when Joplin and Will Christian's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Eagles comes in having scored 171 this season, while the Yellowjackets have scored 255. Joplin scored 23 points last week as it bested Waynesville.
Lebanon led the league in scoring this week after putting up 52 points on West Plains. West in the win.
