After flying high against the Lake Norman Christian Storm on Thursday, the Northside Christian Academy Knights came back down to earth. Northside Christian Academy took a 60-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gray Collegiate Academy on Saturday.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kyrell Shaw, who scored 19 points. Shaw scored a full 38% of Northside Christian Academy's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Arael Jones was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gray Collegiate Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ellis Graham, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Lj Britt, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Northside Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Gray Collegiate Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Northside Christian Academy will take on Weddington in a holiday battle at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Weddington is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Gray Collegiate Academy, they will square off against Brookland-Cayce at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Brookland-Cayce will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while Gray Collegiate Academy is ranked 16th).
