After flying high against the Swett Warriors last Thursday, the Bethel Jaguars came back down to earth. Bethel took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of McClymonds. Bethel was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as McClymonds apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Bethel lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being H. Howard, who scored 17 points. M. Longmire was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Among those leading the charge was Devon Mack, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Jakari Thomas, who scored eight points.
Bethel's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for McClymonds, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.
Bethel will be playing at home against El Cerrito at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. El Cerrito will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 741st, while Bethel is ranked 349th). As for McClymonds, they will head out on the road to challenge Oakland at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Oakland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Saturday.
