Western Branch and Deep Run squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Western Branch had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-2. The Bruins' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Ian Taylor was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

Western Branch's defeat dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Deep Run, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-8.
