The Princeton/Green Lake Tigers will head out to take on the Markesan Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Princeton/Green Lake is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
Markesan will be up against a hot Princeton/Green Lake team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over Montello on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Peyton Zamzow made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Zamzow was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Emily Gryske was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mya Reysen, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Princeton/Green Lake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .833. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, while it was Markesan who put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, it was Pardeeville who put up more. The Hornets came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 17-5. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ali Kirker was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Harper Dornfeld also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Markesan's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-2. As for Princeton/Green Lake, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Everything went Princeton/Green Lake's way against Markesan in their previous meeting back in April, as Princeton/Green Lake made off with a 12-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
